WORK & TRAVEL INDIA

TRAVELLING IS ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO FIND NEW INSPIRATION AND GET NEW PERSPECTIVES. EARLIER THIS YEAR WE TRAVELLED TO INDIA TO VISIT NEW FACTORIES FOR OUR FUTURE COLLECTION.

WE ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING THAT WITH YOU BUT, IN THE MEAN TIME, WE WANT TO SHARE OUR VOYAGE WITH YOU.

KEEP CALM AND SIESTA

Our journey began in New Delhi. In this huge city, with some 22 million people co-living we found ourselves sitting in traffic congestions for several hours per day and let´s say, we became rather good at taking naps!
It´s amazing how, despite the chaotic traffic people were so calm.

OUMMM...

Anna, our Head Designer, remembers and says ”what strikes me the most was the mindset of the people. We could be stuck in traffic jams for several hours and never once did I see any anger or frustration. This was so inspiring!”

A PALLETE OF PINK

Another thing that inspired Anna were all the combination of colors, patterns and shapes. On textiles but also the colors of the cities. Jaipur, India´s pink city is just beautiful!

BLESSINGS FROM THE GODDESS GANGA

Somewhere in between the traffic-jam-naps and the meetings we realized we needed to see a bit of the country and to experience India. We cancelled some of our meetings and hit the road!
One of the things that made the biggest impression on us was the Ganga Aarti ceremony at the holy city Haridware. Every evening, as dusk descends this powerful and uplifting spiritual ritual is performed on the banks of the Ganges river, regardless of the weather. It gathers hundreds of people, idols of various gods, loud speakers, pandits, babas, clanging bells, singing, incense, flowers, and flames!

Our friendly driver Ashwani showed us how to perform it, lighting a candle in a small diya and putting it into the Ganges river together with flowers as an offering to the Goddess Ganga to get her purification and blessing.
India is fascinating. At first glance you can easily see only the chaos, the sensory overload of the streets and noises and smells, but when taking the time to look closer, India is a vibrant place so full of wonder and history we could've happily stayed much longer than a week.
If you ever consider travelling there, we warmly encourage you to do so.
Namaste!
